Located right by our patio, Ted's Trout Pond is filled with thousands of rainbow trout that you can catch and keep. Once a trout is hooked, guests are asked to reel it in and keep it. Releasing it back into the pond is not advised. 

All unwanted fish caught will be donated to the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program in Fort Collins, CO.

Here's what you need to know before trout fishing

Before you visit one of the best places to fish in Windsor, CO, make sure you know what to expect. All anglers must sign a waiver to fish and use the bait and tackle donated by Scheels in Johnstown.

  • $12 Day Pass (includes admission to our private pond, fishing rod, bait, etc.)
  • Refundable deposit of $40 for fishing equipment
  • Catch and Keep Only
  • Trout: $1.25 per inch caught & Blue Gill: $0.75 per inch caught
  • Trout Only: $3 cleaning of fish (includes seasoning and recipes)
  • Trout Hook ‘n Cook
  • We’ll wrap, ice and bag your fish caught, to take home with you. Recipes available.

    (Guests cannot choose to fish only for blue gill or trout. A guest will pay a $12 Day Pass and pay for the fish they caught and get to keep it, donate it or cook it.)

    If you're a RainDance resident, give us your River Resort pin number and if you're a Water Valley resident, show us your rec pass and get the first five inches free. 

    RC Boat Rentals:
    $10 per rental (or the life of one battery, approximately 20 minutes in duration depending on the usage)
    Guests are responsible for damaged or broken boats due to neglect or misuse.
